The Greene County Youth Athletic Association (GCYAA) reminds parents that registration for the 2023 football season is now open and will close on Aug. 4.
This is for football athletes who will be entering 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades in the fall. Third and 4th graders will learn fundamentals of football through flag football. Fifth and 6th grade athletes will play modified tackle football.
The registration fee for grades 3-4 is $50 per athlete and $150 for grades 5-6 per athlete. Each additional athlete from the same family receives a $10 discount.
Scholarships are available. Greene County Youth Athletic Association (GCYAA) may grant registration fee scholarships to children who without this financial assistance would not be able to participate in the program. The GCYAA scholarship program focuses on providing opportunities for area youth to participate because of the physical, mental, and character-training benefits this program can provide.
Scholarships are only available to cover the cost of registration and are not available to cover any additional costs (uniforms, equipment, tournaments, etc.) unless registration fee includes uniforms and/or equipment.
Youth camp with the high school team is in August. Equipment distribution will be in August. Practices will start in August with games beginning in September.
